The first part includes -among others- some solo improvisations which as Manolis noted are not really played today in popular Greek clubs because of the way the entertaiment programmes are structured. He is also playing his own interpretations of famous tunes such as Zeibekiko tis Evdokias, Hathike to Feggari and Hartaeti. He combines different modes (musical scales) and techniques in order to demonstrate the potential of the instrument and the various approaches one can have on it. In between some of the solos Manolis makes comments and expresses opinions about the importance of putting soul into the playing, the value of a tune when it was first recorded, etc…
